What is the market overview of major mobile phone companies?

The mobile phones market is on an upward trajectory since its introduction in the 1980s, and since then the market is still evolving. Although, some companies, such as Nokia, has almost lost its market share for various reasons, while others, such as Samsung, and Apple, are still gaining more market value every year.

      Samsung

      Samsung is one of the top mobile phones companies around the world. It is a South Korean company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea, and was founded by Lee Byung-Chul in 1938. Samsung Group is a conglomerate, as it makes not only mobile phones but also involves in other businesses such as chemicals, automotive, home appliances, telecommunication equipment, ships and consumer electronics.

      Samsung mobile phones gained popularity around the world recently compared to other mobile manufacturers. Some of the famous models of Samsung include Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy 9, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy A9, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy fold.

      Apple 

      Apple is the top competitor of Samsung. Apple is also considered as one of the top mobile manufacturers in the world. It is headquartered in Cupertino, California, US, and was founded by Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne, and Steve Wozniak, in April 1976.

      It is also considered as one of the big five technology companies; among others are Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and Alphabet. Along with mobile phones, Apple also develops consumer electronics and computer software.

      It also provides online services, such as iCloud, iMessage, iTunes store, Apple Arcade, and Apple Card. Some of the famous models of Apple mobile phone include iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS Max, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone XR.

      Huawei

      Huawei gained popularity recently around the world, owing to its low-cost mobile phones. It is a Chinese multinational company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, and was founded by Ren Zhengfei in 1987.

      Along with mobile phones, Huawei also develops telecommunication equipment, fixed broadband networks, mobile broadband networks, and dongles. It also has the subsidiary brand known as Honor, which is also mostly used for mobile phones.

      Huawei also has a very strong market of telecommunication products, and it is working on 5G deployments in various countries, and also provides cloud services. Some of its famous mobile phones models include P30 Pro, Mate 20, Y9, P Smart, Mate 20 Pro, Y9 Prime, and Mate 30 Pro.
