Around the world, schools have been closed as a part of the strategy to tackle coronavirus. Almost all European countries decided to keep schools closed.
Even the UK National Education Union asked PM why schools are not being closed. But there is no plausible reason for it. Is Boris Johnson really know that he is doing.
His slow response to the outbreak could risk ‘000 of lives. His address the other day was highly vague and seemed like the government is intentionally pushing old aged and vulnerable people towards their death.
Well, the schools will eventually get closed when things get out of hand. It is highly stupid decision to keep schools open. If there is a ban on gathering and so many sports events have been cancelled then how on earth, schools with hundreds of pupils could be left open.
There is a petition opened for the parliament to debate. But that would be too late by the time any decision comes out.

The Department for Education in England is still advising all schools to stay open and the Government has announced that widespread closure of schools in the country is not imminent.
The Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “The scientific advice is that this [closing schools] could do more harm than good at this time.”
Boris Johnson needs more money to combat loses due to Brexit. Closing schools will be a drag on the GDP.
School closures could wipe 3% from UK GDP, ministers warned.

Countries in Europe that have closed schools so far due to the threat of coronavirus:
Given the current situation with the coronavirus outbreak, governments around the world have closed their schools and educational institutions. Most countries across the world from Africa to Europe have closed their schools. However, the UK government is reluctant to do so without any good reasons, even the UK National Education Union asked PM why schools are not being closed.
Currently, our education system can also consider providing online or distance learning education or home learning packs in such exceptional circumstances. Classes can be attended virtually and homework can be communicated online even by involving parents.
I expect that the government will announce today or later this week (the latest) of closures of schools across the country.
If there is any guarantee from the school that my kids would be not get infected from coronavirus in the school then I am more than happy to send the kids. I do not want my kids to a part of the government trial and error strategy.
As a parent, I am liable to send my kids to school, but the school also needs to address my concerns regarding health and safety.
