CEIC vs Factiva
CEIC
CEIC is more for data in number/charts/graphs forms. It is much cheaper than the Factiva. Even you can have a free trial for CEIC database by just filing a form. It is good if you are need of data/statistics without any written analysis. But remember most of the data they provide can be available for free.
Factiva
Factiva is quite comprehensive data and providing information from various source, including both paid and free source. However, the price of a single user license can be over £3,000. Factiva keeps adding various sources all the time but also discontinuing the existing as well.
In a nutshell, they both are totally different from each other in terms of information formate and sources.
It depends on the needs. Factiva cost a fortune and would not provide any statistical data in the form of charts and table.
I do not like CEIC, it combines all the free data resources in one place. I get the idea that it is better for executives or people who do not have time to search by themselves. But if you have time in hand and want to save some money then it is better to get the data for free by using Google. Most of the World Bank, IMF, UN, OECD, and all the official national stats are available for free so what is the point to pay for it.
